Francis was baptised on the 20th July 1850 at the Roman Catholic Church in the Parish of Wollongong, County of Camden, NSW. His Baptismal records show John Loadsman and Bridget Donnell sponsored him.

He was to marry Elizabeth Butler MAY on the 15th March in 1875 at Tenterfield, NSW. Francis, although baptised Roman Catholic, listed his religion as Presbyterian.

He listed his occupation as police constable (stationed at Casino, NSW), and later he was farming back on the south coast.

Upon his death after a fall at the Commercial Hotel in Albion Park aged 59, Francis’ occupation was listed as a farmer. He was buried on the 4th March 1910 at the Presbyterian Church, North Kiama, NSW with his wife Elizabeth, who had passed away a few years earlier.
