When Jessie Mclean was born in 1858 in Kiama, New South Wales, her father, Allan, was 38, and her mother, Ann, was 32. She married William Alexander Pitcaithley Chalmers in 1889 in her hometown.

Jessie and William married in 1889 (reg: 5349). William was the son of Andrew and Margaret CHALMERS. They had two daughters before William passed away:

The inscription on Edith’s headstone says, Erected by her loving grandmother.

Died in Kiama at the home of her grandmother, Mrs Allen McLean, of Kiama. Edith was buried at Rookwood Cemetery.
