At the end of 1941, Snow left and went cutting timber at Blackbutt, in QLD and in 1942 and 1943 he played football with  the Blackbutt team.

Alec (Snow) and Mary (Bid) were married in the St Matthews Catholic Church at Crows Nest, just north of Toowoomba, on the 13th  October in 1943. Bid was the daughter of Cecil George DAVIS and Elsie Meryl SCHEU. After their marriage Snow and Bid moved  to the Bunya Mountains where Snow cut timber. Between the births of their two sons, Snow worked at Mulgrave River, near  Gordonvale. Till 1950, Snow played football for the Kingaroy Kangaroos, and worked out near the Bunya Mountains, felling scrub  and planting pine trees. Snow then stayed in the Ayr, Home Hill area until 1989, then moving to Highfields and Murphy’s Creek, near Toowoomba, before moving to Coffs Harbour in 1999 and returning to Queensland in February 2001. Snow and Bid had two sons.
